The number 1 priority for success: DREAM and dream BIG

The number 1 priority in the mentorship is relearning how to dream. Why relearning? Because as a child we could really dream; we dreamed of being princesses or knights or become a detective or maybe own a horse. But during our time growing up, our dreams are being smashed by our environment, by so-called ‘reality’. And so, we stopped dreaming.
When Dexter started this mentorship, he was influenced by the book: The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz (a must-read for everyone who wants to know the reason why dreams and thinking big are important in realizing a fulfilling life).
Dexter had many great inspiring one-liners:
The most important one:
“When the dream is big enough, the facts don’t count!”
Another one, for all people who might want to listen to the committee called “they say…”:
“Don’t let anybody steal your dreams!”
Why are dreams so important. Well, only when you have something that you really want, you’ll put the effort in, the time, to make it happen. Look around you and you’ll see that successful people pursue their dreams, and this shows you also that your life will be as big as your dreams. A lot of people start out having small dreams and they will experience small lives. But when they learned how to dream big, they started to gather the tools, invest in both personal growth and finances to live appropriate big lives.
What Dexter taught and always did, was going out dreambuilding with mentees. Going to vacant houses for sale and look around, going to car dealers, going to shopping malls and even airports. Why did he do that? So people would get connected to their goal/dream. It helps to keep their focus on the price instead of the effort. That’s also the most important reason to first start dreaming about material things, because you can see them, hear them, touch them, smell them. Examples could be a small dream like a washer and a dryer, or a new couch, a sweater, earphones and of course try bigger dreams like a new house or car.
After touching and realizing those dreams, you can move on to dreams of a more altruistic nature, like having time to be a volunteer, or donate money to charity, be a motivational speaker or help people in need (without having to worry about your time or money).
Within the mentorship, it is fun and a n exciting learning experience to go dreambuilding with your mentor and your team. Challenge yourself, go out of your comfort zone and go to stores where you would normally never go, try on expensive cloths, fit an expensive ring, go test-drive in an expensive car, or go look at an amazing house even though they are still way above your budget.
You’ll see that all these things don’t have a pricetag saying “not for you”, but just a price …!
